Iyengar yoga promotes the use of props such as blocks, blankets, etc, to ensure that students reach optimal alignment for their body in each pose, thus making the poses accessible to everyone.

Pregnancy Yoga

Whether you are completely new to Yoga or an experienced practitioner, yoga during pregnancy can create a sense of well-being and deep relaxation, as well as keeping the body supple and increasing energy. Through gentle movements (tailored for all stages of pregnancy), breathing techniques, sound work, visualizations, deep relaxation and restorative positions, this class can help support the journey of pregnancy to motherhood. Once the baby is born, the focus shifts to the baby, but the mother’s overall well-being needs to be in mind. Postnatal yoga focuses on gently restoring the body from the physical strain of child birth and gives new mothers a practice that embraces the balance between the body and mind. The postnatal classes are uniquely designed to gradually restore the body to the physical practice one had before pregnancy.

Having only so few hours in the day to take time for yourself may be challenging, but we offer a way to find balance. Our midday, lunch hour yoga class is geared toward the busy professional. This 45 minute class focuses on alignment and body awareness. For those long hours sitting at a computer, students work on back bends and forward folds. Working on the core to supply support for the rest of the body. This shortened class is energizing and full of needed stretching.

Let's flow through the full Budokon Yoga Primary Series! Budokon Yoga contains elements of hatha yoga, martial arts, calisthenics, animal locomotion, and mind science. The Primary Series consists of seven intelligently assembled sections of slow and controlled movements designed to improve mobility, agility, flexibility and strength. The warrior spirit and the yogi spirit unite to become one. This workshop is designed for students who already have an understanding of the BDK signature moves and want to experience the full Primary Series.
