This is a 4 week series for 1st - 4th graders beginning Thursday January 9th! Yoga is an ancient healing practice known to calm the body, mind, and emotions. In this playful yoga class designed especially for elementary aged-children, children will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives.Games, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun class. Preregistration is required!
About the teacher
Dallas is a registered yoga teacher who is passionate about bringing the root and core of yoga back to the west. Dallas strives to have an authentic, non-judgmental teaching style and compassion-centered philosophy. Availing herself to continuous philosophical education from various spiritual disciplines, she weaves thought-provoking meditations throughout her classes, applying ancient wisdom to our contemporary western world in a useful and understandable way. She encourages growth of the physical and spiritual self, citing the interconnectedness to each other, to the world and to the universe at large. Dallas was first introduced to yoga when she was at Prairie Care in Chaska, Minnesota in 2014 and then again when she attended a wellness retreat in Wickenburg, Arizona in 2015. Yoga was the driving force behind creating a healthy life for herself. She attributes her healing and and continuous growth to her yoga practice and is ambitious to share this way of life with others. Education RYT 200 at Darling Yoga in Overland Park, KS Working on Bachelor of Science-Psychology degree at Minnesota State University-Mankato Fun Fact: I spent 30 minutes Googling examples of “fun facts” and still couldn’t come up with one. In other words: fun facts give me anxiety.
