Mary Angel Blount, MFA, RYT, comes to yoga from a roundabout route. Before she started training to be a yoga instructor, she taught college English for 23 years. “When I discovered yoga in the 1990s, I was teaching creative writing and composition. I was amazed at yoga’s effect on creativity,” she says. “Yoga lowered my self-criticism, so I could feel freer to create.” She continues: “Yoga is also phenomenal for stress. It speeds up the energy in my body and slows down the energy in my mind. It is the perfect reset! More than that, it’s bliss! My calling is to help others discover how profoundly and how positively yoga can affect us all.” In addition to teaching a variety of hatha/vinyasa yoga classes at Bliss Bliss Bliss such as Gentle Yoga and Bliss Flow, Mary Angel also teaches Chakra Yoga, a 75-minute class that includes chakra assessment & balancing, journaling, chanting, meditation, and asana. “The two forces running through our bodies—the liberation current and the manifestation current—are always fluctuating and thus, in constant need of balancing. Chakra Yoga helps us to balance our energy and dissolve our blocks to love and creative bliss.”

Chakra Yoga is a 75-minute class that incorporates journaling, sharing, breathwork, chanting, and asana. First there’s a short discussion of the particular chakra we’re working with, then a short journaling/sharing session, followed by 55 minutes of asana designed specifically for the designated chakra. Chakra Yoga engages the mind as well as the body to multiply awareness and facilitate healing and growth. Acceptable for all levels. Gentle Yoga

COVID19 guidelines require that you wait in your car until the teacher opens lobby doors. You must wear a mask at all times. Bring your own props. Water service is not available. Online registration only. No walk ins. Mary Angel recommends mat, block and strap. A wonderful way to experience yoga for those who desire a more gentle approach to yoga postures. Classes will be slow moving and focus on stretching, flexibility, balance, good posture. This class promises a relaxing experience with a focus on postures that are easy on the joints. At the minimum bring a yoga mat and if possible block and strap. We do sell these items in the bliss shop.No yoga experience is necessary.

Hatha Yoga With Nadia (Mask Friendly)

Hatha is a limb of yoga that focuses on the power of the breath to initiate movement. In this class, we tap into deeper energies and moving through that energy. All levels of yogis can find relaxation or challenge depending on how your subtle body is calling. With social distance measures in place at the studio where only 6 students are allowed per class, Nadia wanted to let students know that she will be wearing a mask to teach this class even though masks off are allowed once on your mat space. If coming to a small socially distanced group class mask on makes you more comfortable, know that you will not be the only one.

Flow/Storative Yoga offers a wonderful blend of rejuvenating movement and restful practices. The first half of class will flow at a gentle pace to coordinate breath and movement while awakening your strength and flexibility with sun salutations and standing postures. The second part of class will combine floor postures, meditation practices, and guided relaxation to enhance qualities of comfort and calm. Flow/Storative is your invitation to feel more relaxed and restored within the flow of your day. Come as you are – all humans are welcome.

When I practice regularly, I feel at home in my body and I have the energy and awakened wisdom to maintain a joyful life-balance. When I teach, I am at home with my creative energy and service to others. In teaching, I honor the time I share with students and aim to provide a positive space where every student can feel safe and empowered to breathe, move, play, transform, rejuvenate, and ultimately find “home” in their radiant hearts and peaceful minds. I began my yoga journey in 1994 during a high school yoga class. Little did I know the profound effect this experience would play in my life. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies in arts education and arts administration, yoga was always a beacon to help me maintain mental focus, emotional balance, and physical strength. Throughout my early yoga practices, I explored several styles of yoga, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Kundalini. Shortly after moving to Morgantown, WV in 2007, my goal to become a yoga teacher manifested once I met Joanne VandenHengel. I excitedly enrolled in her 3rd Street Yoga 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and completed my certification in 2009. As a new yoga instructor, it was an honor to co-create the yoga program at BlissBlissBliss with Mary Jo Schick in 2009. Together with Elizabeth Halliday-Reynolds, we set into motion a space where the phrase “Yoga for everyBODY" was truth and continues to be its blissful mission. My teaching style is sincere, cheerful and eclectic, blending the traditional alignment principles of Hatha Yoga with my love of creative movement, playful expression, and awakened breathing. My interests in the therapeutic and spiritual aspects of yoga are also at the heart of my classes. I enjoy using thematic exploration to guide a series of classes and to kindle the union of postures, breathing, and mindfulness. My passion and interest in women-centered wellness inspired me to start the BlissMama Yoga Program, which includes yoga classes such as: prenatal, fertility, postnatal, mama & baby, and a Yoga & Birthing workshop for partners. In the spring of 2011, I completed the Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher Certification through Yoga Matrika with Sharon Fennimore, and I am currently on the certification path to become a DONA-certified Doula. I am also an assistant instructor for 3rd Street Yoga’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program offered annually at BlissBlissBliss. I take my yoga off the mat and into my world as a mother to three wonderful daughters, whom remind me daily that a joyful life exists in the NOW. Bring your own props. Water service is not available. Consider leaving your water in your car for after class enjoyment. Online registration only. No walk ins. A wonderful way to experience yoga for those who desire a more gentle approach to yoga asana. Classes will be slow moving and focus on stretching, flexibility, balance, good posture, and relaxing. This class promises long holds in the yin style and the use of props in the restorative style. At the minimum bring a mat and a blanket. Ideal is a strap, block and yoga bolster. These postures with the use of props will make this class perfect for those with physical conditions, seniors and over-stressed individuals. No yoga experience is necessary. All levels including new beginners are welcome.

Life can feel so separated. We go to work, we manage our life. We take care of our people and sometimes the taking care of self takes the back burner. Then when we have some time to go within, we are not sure where to start. Oracle cards offer valuable intuitive insights and can really help create the oneness of Mind : Body : Spirit that we seek. In this class Sarah and Elizabeth will guide you through some common oracle card questions. How to get to know your deck, setting intentions for your reading, and understanding open ended vs. direct questions. We will have time to go through two spreads that give you the best results. Your class fee included one a deck on us but you are welcome to bring your favorite deck to play with.

Remember to bring your props. You will need a yoga mat, blanket or large towel, and your journal (just in case). We all agree that the Full Moon has some sort of strange power over us - nature feels it, the ocean tides feel it and we feel it (some stronger than others) at times. We can count on the moon to FLOW through its phases of New (dark/fresh start), Waxing (building), Full (calling attention and emotion), and Waning (fading). Join Sarah each week to FLOW through a blend of rejuvenating, grounding and restful poses that coincide with that particular moon phase. Each class will close with a guided relaxation meditation. Come learn how the moon affects you and move through its phases with ease each week!

Slow Flow Evening Yoga With Sarah

Wind-down each Monday evening with Sarah for Slow Flow Evening Yoga. This class will help you stretch out the kinks of the day, call your energy and awareness back to you from the day (usually lovingly and subconsciously given away), and help us create balance both mentally and physically before beginning our night-time routines. Breathing practices (pranayama) and guided relaxation techniques will be included. This is a beginner-friendly, all-levels class - all are welcome. You will need a mat and any of your own props such as a block, bolster, strap or blanket.

Jessica is a 200 Hour, RYT with Yoga Alliance. She completed her training with Heidi Sherwin of MoonBow Yoga and Wellness last year and cannot wait to share what she has learned with her students. She has experience teaching many styles of yoga, but has a special place in her heart for Pre-Natal Yoga. It was during her own pre-natal classes when pregnant that the idea first came to her to pursue yoga teacher training. After completing her yoga teacher training Jessica founded Stardust Yoga, LLC.
