About Mary Angel Blount
Mary Angel Blount, MFA, RYT, comes to yoga from a roundabout route. Before she started training to be a yoga instructor, she taught college English for 23 years. “When I discovered yoga in the 1990s, I was teaching creative writing and composition. I was amazed at yoga’s effect on creativity,” she says. “Yoga lowered my self-criticism, so I could feel freer to create.” She continues: “Yoga is also phenomenal for stress. It speeds up the energy in my body and slows down the energy in my mind. It is the perfect reset! More than that, it’s bliss! My calling is to help others discover how profoundly and how positively yoga can affect us all.” In addition to teaching a variety of hatha/vinyasa yoga classes at Bliss Bliss Bliss such as Gentle Yoga and Bliss Flow, Mary Angel also teaches Chakra Yoga, a 75-minute class that includes chakra assessment & balancing, journaling, chanting, meditation, and asana. “The two forces running through our bodies—the liberation current and the manifestation current—are always fluctuating and thus, in constant need of balancing. Chakra Yoga helps us to balance our energy and dissolve our blocks to love and creative bliss.”

About Heidi Sherwin

When I practice regularly, I feel at home in my body and I have the energy and awakened wisdom to maintain a joyful life-balance. When I teach, I am at home with my creative energy and service to others. In teaching, I honor the time I share with students and aim to provide a positive space where every student can feel safe and empowered to breathe, move, play, transform, rejuvenate, and ultimately find “home” in their radiant hearts and peaceful minds. I began my yoga journey in 1994 during a high school yoga class. Little did I know the profound effect this experience would play in my life. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies in arts education and arts administration, yoga was always a beacon to help me maintain mental focus, emotional balance, and physical strength. Throughout my early yoga practices, I explored several styles of yoga, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Kundalini. Shortly after moving to Morgantown, WV in 2007, my goal to become a yoga teacher manifested once I met Joanne VandenHengel. I excitedly enrolled in her 3rd Street Yoga 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and completed my certification in 2009. As a new yoga instructor, it was an honor to co-create the yoga program at BlissBlissBliss with Mary Jo Schick in 2009. Together with Elizabeth Halliday-Reynolds, we set into motion a space where the phrase “Yoga for everyBODY" was truth and continues to be its blissful mission. My teaching style is sincere, cheerful and eclectic, blending the traditional alignment principles of Hatha Yoga with my love of creative movement, playful expression, and awakened breathing. My interests in the therapeutic and spiritual aspects of yoga are also at the heart of my classes. I enjoy using thematic exploration to guide a series of classes and to kindle the union of postures, breathing, and mindfulness. My passion and interest in women-centered wellness inspired me to start the BlissMama Yoga Program, which includes yoga classes such as: prenatal, fertility, postnatal, mama & baby, and a Yoga & Birthing workshop for partners. In the spring of 2011, I completed the Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher Certification through Yoga Matrika with Sharon Fennimore, and I am currently on the certification path to become a DONA-certified Doula. I am also an assistant instructor for 3rd Street Yoga’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program offered annually at BlissBlissBliss. I take my yoga off the mat and into my world as a mother to three wonderful daughters, whom remind me daily that a joyful life exists in the NOW. Together with my husband, we seek and enjoy the simple pleasures of family-time, the great outdoors, and taking time to breathe. I would love to see you in a class soon! I am also available for specialized private yoga sessions for individuals or small groups. These private sessions are great for exploring one’s authentic and personal goals, or to get a group together for some collective yoga fun. Namaste!
