    FEBRUARY
When we open our hearts to the process of sharing more love, we will inevitably confront people who are hard to love and moments when it’s hard to even love anybody. This month-long course will focus on “loving the difficult person” as a facet of Metta (kindness) practice. We will unpack what it means to struggle to love those who don’t meet our expectations such as treating us with respect. We will use teachings, perspectives, and meditation practices from various Buddhist traditions and other faith traditions as well as emerging 21st Century social practices to learn new ways of maintaining healthy boundaries and a soft heart simultaneously.

Third Root holds a Secular Buddhist Studies Program on Monday nights with a talented pool of Buddhism and meditation teachers that resonate with the teaching styles and philosophy and style at Third Root! Each month will feature a pair of teachers for 4 consecutive Monday nights, and topics will change monthly. Each evening will feature a dharma talk, meditation, and a question and answer period.

  • Healthy Boundaries: Conscious Relationships & Joint Stability 2 hours $25.00 Book Now
Designed for all levels of experience, this movement oriented session primarily addresses those of us who are "double jointed," exhibit an excess range of motion in the joints, or are just curious about how to create stable, supportive connections on and off the mat. Your practice can be sustaining and not degenerative!

Hyper-mobility of the joints is a commonly overlooked issue in yoga asana, which tends to overvalue flexibility. We'll address this condition through isometric strengthening, alignment instruction & embodied awareness.

This exploration of joining places of bone will also extend metaphorically to relationships: where do unconscious patterns wear us down over time? Are we creating stability? or are we hanging on unconsciously?

Practice healthy boundaries inside & out!
