Buddhist Meditation special event

Buddhist Meditation is an excellent practice to train yourself in emotional stability. Explore your mind with a gentle and relaxed attitude in order to broaden your inner space. Create room for cultivating compassion and loving-kindness.The practice will start with basic meditation techniques and will gradually take up some specific features of Shingon-buddhist practice such as basic visualization techniques. Our teacher is Shaku Jinsen whostudied and practiced buddhism in Japan for a period of ten years. He is a fully ordained Buddhist priest from the Shingon-school of Japanese Buddhism. He currently leads Yo e an, Centre for Shingon Buddhism, providing opportunities to practice meditation and learning more about Buddhism and the Shingon-tradition. This is a donation based meditation. We follow the buddhist principle of free donations.

Whether you are completely new to Yoga or an experienced practitioner, yoga during pregnancy can create a sense of well-being and deep relaxation, as well as keeping the body supple and increasing energy. Through gentle movements (tailored for all stages of pregnancy), breathing techniques, sound work, visualizations, deep relaxation and restorative positions, this class can help support the journey of pregnancy to motherhood. Once the baby is born, the focus shifts to the baby, but the mother’s overall well-being needs to be in mind. Postnatal yoga focuses on gently restoring the body from the physical strain of child birth and gives new mothers a practice that embraces the balance between the body and mind. The postnatal classes are uniquely designed to gradually restore the body to the physical practice one had before pregnancy.

Postnatal 'Mamas & Babies' Yoga

Postnatal yoga is a class designed to align and strengthen ligaments and muscles, establishing a strong foundation for a healthy body. Many of the yoga techniques involve the baby – exercises that mothers are able to do at home, while caring for their babies, and there are also practices for bringing alignment to everyday activities such as positioning during feeding. Mothers can also learn how to relax with their babies, connecting with them, and learning playful activities to do at home. The classes are also an opportunity to meet other mothers, for babies to interact with other babies, and for everyone to connect in a relaxing atmosphere. You may join the classes from 6 weeks after the birth (or 8 weeks if C-section). It can be helpful to have a thumbs-up from your doctor before resuming a yoga practice.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a style of yoga that emphasizes long holds and complete surrender in a pose, to work on the thick connective tissues that need more time to stretch than muscles, and the joints. The focus is mostly on hips, low back, and sometimes shoulders. The theory is that meridians (energy channels) run through these areas, and by practicing this style we’re opening them so we can let energy flow. Recommended for people who already have an existing practice and know how to breathe deeply.
