Despite the images splashed all over media of largely young, thin, flexible people practicing yoga, there is no such thing as a perfect yoga body. Asana, or physical yoga postures, are appropriate for people in all bodies, regardless of size and shape. In this workshop, we will explore vinyasa yoga in the context of bodies of size. We will explore making space for ample bodies within your practice. This exploration with include tips for working with your unique body shape in traditional poses, as well as exploring props to make poses more accessible. We will end our exploration by melting into the embrace of restorative postures. No prior experience necessary. Please register for classes at least 30 minutes prior. About Sati Rose
Sati Rose has been teaching Yoga for almost fifteen years. She has been seeing clients in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas offering group class, private teaching, Thai Massage, and Breathwork. She currently works with up to 300 people each week locally and also teaches nationally and internationally. Sati is schooled in Rebirthing Breathwork and completed the 9 Month certification training 4 times as taught through the Kriya Yoga lineage of Shri Haidakhan Babaji Kriya Yoga and taught by Sondra Ray, Tony Lomastro, and Maureen Malone. She received her spirit name ‘Sati’ meaning ‘selfless devotion’ from her beloved Sad Guru Ammachi (www.amma.org) while living in in Amma's ashram in India.She became initiated and certified into the Hatha Yoga tradition of teaching by David Newman and Inner Fire Yoga in 2001 and began teaching Hatha Yoga right away. Following Sati's schooling and teaching in Hatha Yoga, she then went on to become initiated into the Kundalini Yoga tradition (as taught by Yogi Bhajan) and taught by Sada Sat Singh and Kaur in 2003. She is a 3HO certified Kundalini Instructor. She is a member of The International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (IKYTA 225). Sati is also a Yoga Alliance certified and insured instructor (RYT 500). Sati has lived and worked at The Himalayan Institute one of the most respected Yoga associations here in the United States and abroad.
