Pop/Rock Band (ages 10-13)
with Aragorn Wiederhold (Guitar & Bass)

This is a weekly small group rehearsal open to students ages 10 through 13 who have one to two years of private lessons or similar experience. Students learn how to rehearse with a band. The class will focus on learning to play with other musicians, proper technique and stage presence.  Songs include classic and current pop and rock songs, and participants will perform for an audience at the end of the session.
About Aragorn Wiederhold (Guitar & Bass)
Guitar virtuoso, Aragorn Wiederhold, started playing guitar at seven and has since never put it down. He studied pop, rock and jazz at Berklee College of Music, and he studied classical music at Boston Conservatory where he was later hired as a professor of guitar. Aragorn has toured and recorded with some of the best musicians in the business, and he is a respected film composer. He has most recently composed music for "Another Cinderella Story"

Beginner Beethovens (ages 7-11)

Beginner Beethovens is perfect for young musicans who are interested in learning how to play the piano in a fun, small group environment. By the end of the course, students will know how to play songs using both hands, and they will be able to read simple melodies in the treble and bass clefs.This class is limited to 6 participants.Method books are included in the package tuition price.
About Bernard Bayer (Piano)
Pianist Bernard Bayer is a rare artist who has captured the hearts of audiences around the world. He has performed as a soloist with Bratislava Philharmonic, San Diego Symphony and The Fairbanks Philharmonic among others. He is featured on a number of film scores including "A Girl Like Me" and "The Visitor", and he has appeared on Britain's "Pop Stars to Opera Stars" reality TV program.  A dynamic performer, Bernard has won many competitions including the La Jolla Symphony Young Artists Competition, VOCE State Finals, Yamaha Piano Competition, MTAC Concerto Competition and Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition. Bernard has a master's degree in performance from USC where he studied with world-renown pedagogue John Perry, and he spent most of his formative years studying with the incredible Jane Bastien (Bastien Piano Methods). Bernard is passionate about teaching and inspires his students to achieve beyond their expectations.

In this course, students continue building their foundation of skills to carry them through the beginning stages of piano. Students will reinforce their theory knowledge, develop their ability to read music, and they'll learn more scales and chords. Students become much more self-sufficient by the end of this course, and they will each learn a unique solo piece to be performed at the end of the session.

Junior Glee Club

The club is for elementary school students who love to sing and would like to be a part of a fun and educational music class. We will learn the basics of healthy vocal technique, stage presence, and easy choreography. Each child will also have the option to sing a solo. Each class will be from 4:45 - 6:00 on Fridays and we'll have a final performance on Sunday, June 3rd.
About Katy Shea (Voice & Piano)
Katy Shea is passionate about teaching and has a gift for working with children. Katy has her Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University, and she has taught and directed music programs ever since. She has directed choir programs at Alta Vista Elementary, The Meadows, and Manhattan Academy and most recently at Coast Music Conservatory where she is the director of the Coast Music Concert Choir. Katy is a versatile pianist and vocalist, and she is the current keyboardist and background singer for the group Lady Sugar. If you're searching for a dedicated, energetic teacher who goes the extra mile for her students, Katy is the teacher you've been looking for.

About Dave Stark (Guitar and Bass)
Dave Stark is a professional touring and recording guitarist, with over 20 years experience performing globally with multi-platinum artists and emerging artists/bands. Proficient in all musical styles, having studied under the tutelage of top name and Grammy award winning guitarists, he is also a seasoned, private instructor and published author for Alfred Music Publishing- one of the most established firms and creators of learning methods for musical instruments.   David’s book is entitled “Essential skills for sight reading guitar” and has sold continually for over 15 years worldwide. Reading music is encouraged but lessons are designed individually for each student or group. Techniques, theory, harmony, ear training, songwriting and other commercial music skills are all available subjects to David’s students. In addition he offers an artist development course of proven success for any aspiring musician/artist trying to break into the highly competitive world of commercial music .   Whether you want to become a guitarist, better musician or “artist”, David can rapidly guide your musical abilities to their best potential.
