About Megan Carscaddon
Megan has been a practitioner of Yoga for over 15 years, beginning her Yoga journey while in college at Gardner-Webb University. In 2017, Megan received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certification from Vira Bhava Yoga at Brevard Yoga Center. With nearly 500 hours of teaching experience, Megan’s classes vary in style, but are accessible for every student, no matter their experience. From the Tantra school of Yoga, Megan’s classes weave a flow of stretching, movement, and breath work, allowing her students to lean in to their bodies and expand their own movement and mobility, while building a slow heat internal heat. Megan teaches slow flow, deep stretch, Yin and restorative Yoga. Megan’s slow flow classes begin with breath work and mild stretching, progressing in to dynamic movement and balancing, and, finishing with more moderate stretches and savanna. Megan’s deep stretch and restorative classes are very grounding, creating a therapeutic stretch and release of the muscles in the body. In her Yin classes, Megan keeps her students in passive Yoga poses that are each held for 5-7 minutes. In Yin yoga, the students work past the muscles and into the deeper connective tissues of the body. Additionally, Megan teaches Yoga Nidra and offers guided meditation workshops. Megan has experience working with special populations, including the elderly (in chair Yoga), prenatal Yoga, and children’s Yoga. It is an honor for Megan to share her Yoga practice with her community and finds joy in all of her classes.
