I've been a Brevard county resident since 1993. I was on vacation here as a former flight attendant for United Airlines and I fell in love with this area. I am a mother to a 22 year old son, Ben. Currently a Senior at University of Central Florida. I became a mom in 1994 and after gaining a substantial amount of weight during my pregnancy, I decided to join Atlantic Nautilus to lose the baby weight. I was only 24 and lost the weight with exercise and healthy eating. Ten years later I was still very active and decided to follow my dream of competing in a local figure competition. I started out on my own at first, but discovered in order to be competitive I needed to hire a personal trainer. So, I hired an amazing trainer. I got results and placed first and won overall in 5 competitions. I loved competing, but I did not enjoy the strict diet it required to be on stage. I decided to discontinue competing and focus on other areas of my life at that time. I still love all aspects of fitness. I am even more passionate about health and fitness and want to help others reach their goals and HAVE FUN while doing it. I now take a more balanced approach to getting healthy and I can teach you how to do the same without totally altering the lifestyle you love to live.

This yin and yang class combines an all level vinyasa flow along with a floor series of traditional yin postures. Dawn Gluskin is a 200 hour RYT and long-time practitioner who fell in love with her yoga practice because of its ability to help her create space in both her mind and body. She first came to yoga looking for "a little stretching" to counter her active physical schedule (as a marathon runner and triathlon athlete), but she found peace of mind and an expansion of heart, which has kept her coming back to her mat for more. She teaches vinyasa flow and yin yoga. You'll leave her class feeling stronger, more balanced, and ready to take on your day with ease and grace.

Special Needs Class:-4-15 years old Creative Movement Class: 4-6 years old Introduction to dance. They'll learn different styles of dance, which include jazz, lyrical and hip hop. They'll also learn different movements and techniques that teach them to allow their bodies to feel the music by dance. Each class last for 3 convective months, so we need the students and parents to be committed to their class. Recitals are very important to our students and when/if a student drops out, it makes it difficult to rearrange others positions in our final production. We will allow drop ins at $10.00 a session, for any class offered.

We use compound exercises, cardio, and partner exercises to challenge you, build muscle, strengthen bones and increase cardiovascular endurance. This class encompasses full body exercises, always including core strengthening.

About Tom Abbott
Tom Abbott is the founder and Instructor for Balanced Tai Chi and Qigong. Tom is a Native Floridian who recently relocated to Merritt Island. He has been practicing Tai Chi and Qigong for over twenty (20) years under the tutelage of Dr. Peter F. DeBlasio, M.D., founder of Tai Chi America. A disciple of Grand Master Dong Zeng Chen and a master in his own right, Dr. DeBlasio has been practicing Tai Chi for over forty (40) years. Mr. Abbott’s desire for self-improvement had him attending over fifth teen (15) instructional workshops by Grand Master Dong. Additionally, Mr. Abbott has also had the opportunity to attend workshops by Master Yang Zhenduo and Shifu Jiang Jian-ye. Since retiring and when not teaching or practicing Tai Chi, Tom enjoys spending time windsurfing, surfing, stargazing and playing acoustic music.
