About Mary Angel Blount
Mary Angel Blount, MFA, RYT, comes to yoga from a roundabout route. Before she started training to be a yoga instructor, she taught college English for 23 years. “When I discovered yoga in the 1990s, I was teaching creative writing and composition. I was amazed at yoga’s effect on creativity,” she says. “Yoga lowered my self-criticism, so I could feel freer to create.” She continues: “Yoga is also phenomenal for stress. It speeds up the energy in my body and slows down the energy in my mind. It is the perfect reset! More than that, it’s bliss! My calling is to help others discover how profoundly and how positively yoga can affect us all.” In addition to teaching a variety of hatha/vinyasa yoga classes at Bliss Bliss Bliss such as Gentle Yoga and Bliss Flow, Mary Angel also teaches Chakra Yoga, a 75-minute class that includes chakra assessment & balancing, journaling, chanting, meditation, and asana. “The two forces running through our bodies—the liberation current and the manifestation current—are always fluctuating and thus, in constant need of balancing. Chakra Yoga helps us to balance our energy and dissolve our blocks to love and creative bliss.”

Hot Vinyasa
with Melita Mollohan
1 hour minutes
The word “vinyasa” can be translated as “arranging something in a special way,” In a vinyasa yoga class, poses are arranged in a special way.The intention of the poses is to create an intentional space. In this class strength, balance, and breath are woven together to create a flow. The room is intentionally heated because of the many benefits heat offers to your body. Heat protects your muscles as they move through their full range of motion. Endorphins are released helping to reverse the negative effects of stress.

Melita started teaching Yoga in 2009 and started her Massage Therapy practice in 2010. She’s since then learned the subtle yet powerful healing of Bowen Therapy to help the body heal more quickly and more permanently. She has since then added Akashic Record Readings to her practice and these have become one of her favorite ways to work with clients. She’s constantly amazed at how physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual issues can be resolved with time in the records. Another favorite way of working with groups is through the powerful healing of the breath. Your breath can move stuck emotional & physical energy. And most of all, it opens your heart to greater self-love. Melita offers Breathwork Circles every other month and they are an extremely powerful way to help heal your body, mind, and spirit. Melita still enjoys a strong physical and challenging yoga asana practice and continues to teach two classes in this format, Thursday at 5:30pm and Saturday 9am. Groundwork – Restorative Yoga Training special event
with Heidi Sherwin
8 hours 30 minutes minutes
Busy, tired, stressed, tense… All are common in our modern-day active lives. Would you like to learn how Restorative Yoga and other relaxation methods can enhance overall health by releasing tension, decreasing stress, and busting the busyness syndrome? Yes, Please! In the Groundwork Restorative Yoga Training, you will be guided into a clear understanding of the heightened need for more rest, less stress. You will acquire practical tools for creating a well-rounded restorative practice and confidently lay the groundwork where optimum health, inner peace and joy can thrive. The training also provides yoga teachers, health professionals, and individuals in other fields many resources and methods to best integrate restoratives into group settings and/or one-on-one sessions. Restorative Yoga is an antidote to the busyness syndrome that conspires to build more stress, less rest in your daily life. Overtime, the stress response can run wild and create obstacles in the mind and body , possibly leading to health issues, such as high blood pressure, digestive upset, hormonal imbalances, or chronic muscular tension. A yoga practice abundant in gentle and supportive postures, calming breathing exercises, and guided relaxation techniques stimulates the Parasympathetic Nervous System, inviting you to slow down and more easily rest, digest, and rejuvenate your mind and body. Topics Include: - Scientific support for the Power of Rest - Form and Function: Types of restorative postures and their benefits and contraindications - Using props safely and effectively to support postures and enhance ultimate comfort - Breathing exercises and guided relaxation techniques that calm the mind and relax the body - Basic sequencing tips to design intentional practices for yourself and/or your students/clients - Ways to cultivate a safe and nurturing space for relaxation and self-transformation -Overview of nervous system anatomy and subtle energy principles - Integrating essential oils and other comfort measures for deep relaxation and rejuvenation A Certificate of Completion can be received for professional Continuing Education Credits (8 contact, 2 non-contact), such as for Yoga Alliance. If you are interested in CEU's, an outside-of-class assignment will be required. All participants will get a Groundwork Manual, filled with information and resources covered in the training. Everyone will also be gifted an essential oil calming room spray that can be used in your personal or group practices. Instructor: Heidi Sherwin, E-RYT. About Heidi Sherwin
Specialties: Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Pre/Postnatal Yoga, Yoga for Labor & Childbirth, Partner Yoga Yoga brings me home. When I practice regularly, I feel at home in my body and I have the energy and awakened wisdom to maintain a joyful life-balance. When I teach, I am at home with my creative energy and service to others. In teaching, I honor the time I share with students and aim to provide a positive space where every student can feel safe and empowered to breathe, move, play, transform, rejuvenate, and ultimately find “home” in their radiant hearts and peaceful minds. I began my yoga journey in 1994 during a high school yoga class. Little did I know the profound effect this experience would play in my life. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies in arts education and arts administration, yoga was always a beacon to help me maintain mental focus, emotional balance, and physical strength. Throughout my early yoga practices, I explored several styles of yoga, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Kundalini. Shortly after moving to Morgantown, WV in 2007, my goal to become a yoga teacher manifested once I met Joanne VandenHengel. I excitedly enrolled in her 3rd Street Yoga 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and completed my certification in 2009. As a new yoga instructor, it was an honor to co-create the yoga program at BlissBlissBliss with Mary Jo Schick in 2009. Together with Elizabeth Halliday-Reynolds, we set into motion a space where the phrase “Yoga for everyBODY" was truth and continues to be its blissful mission. My teaching style is sincere, cheerful and eclectic, blending the traditional alignment principles of Hatha Yoga with my love of creative movement, playful expression, and awakened breathing. My interests in the therapeutic and spiritual aspects of yoga are also at the heart of my classes. I enjoy using thematic exploration to guide a series of classes and to kindle the union of postures, breathing, and mindfulness. My passion and interest in women-centered wellness inspired me to start the BlissMama Yoga Program, which includes yoga classes such as: prenatal, fertility, postnatal, mama & baby, and a Yoga & Birthing workshop for partners. In the spring of 2011, I completed the Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher Certification through Yoga Matrika with Sharon Fennimore, and I am currently on the certification path to become a DONA-certified Doula. I am also an assistant instructor for 3rd Street Yoga’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program offered annually at BlissBlissBliss. I take my yoga off the mat and into my world as a mother to three wonderful daughters, whom remind me daily that a joyful life exists in the NOW. Together with my husband, we seek and enjoy the simple pleasures of family-time, the great outdoors, and taking time to breathe. I would love to see you in a class soon! I am also available for specialized private yoga sessions for individuals or small groups. These private sessions are great for exploring one’s authentic and personal goals, or to get a group together for some collective yoga fun. Namaste! Certifications: Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance), Registered Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance), Doula

After taking some time off from teaching yoga to finish my PhD in Human and Community Development, I completed my Level Two Teacher Training with Amazing Yoga in 2013 located in Tulum, MX. I have a Master’s degree in Wellness Management and was instrumental in leading the charges for Morgantown, WV to become a Well City; an award given by the Wellness Councils of America. Tiny Trees (18 months - 5 years with adult)
with Angela Carver New!
30 minutes minutes
Tiny Trees (18 months - 5 years with adult) - 30 minutes - $12 each class Tiny Trees Yoga is for children 18 months – 5 years with an adult (parent, grandparent, nanny). Each class offers children an adventure using music, games and story to learn poses and aspects of yoga. The adult will model poses or help the child into the pose. Each class ends with relaxation and reading a book.
About Angela Carver
Specialty: Children’s yoga I started doing yoga when I was pregnant. I loved the yoga, the community with the other Moms and the send-off we got right before we delivered. I did Mom/Baby classes and returned to pre-natal yoga when I was pregnant with my second child. Then we moved and after arriving in WV, I found Bliss and started attending classes when I could. I also took my girls to Itsy Bitsy Yoga and they loved it. As my kids got older and needed me less I explored what I wanted to do and since I loved yoga and the girls enjoyed it I looked into kid’s yoga certifications. I found Child Light and was certified in the summer of 2013. That fall, my oldest daughter was in a bicycle accident with facial/mouth injuries. While in the emergency room, we both survived because of the breathing techniques I learned and had already shared with my daughters. The numbing gel and lidocaine did not work and she felt every stitch in her chin, but because we breathed together she didn’t move a muscle. Right then I knew the certification was worth it even if I never taught a class. But I’m so glad I did as the last 2 ½ years teaching kids 18 months to 12 years of age has been a joy and I love every minute. Classes are not like an adult class; using music, games and stories, but the smiles on their faces when they hold a pose and repeat positive affirmations gets me through any bad day. I teach or have taught at ELF (Morgantown Early Learning Facility), the Boys and Girls Club (two different elementary school after school programs), as well as volunteering at area school wellness nights and other community outreach programs. I love spending time with my husband Jeffrey and daughters, Samantha and Madelyn, as well as our two dogs Nikki and Tilly. I served as PTO President at Mountainview Elementary, President of the Children’s Discovery Museum of West Virginia which is now Spark! Imagination and Science Center where I am currently the fundraising chair. Certification: CLY TT Basic

It's one of Sarah Caskey’s personal goals to bring these traditions back to our communities and circles - it's powerful medicine! This is a special invite for our community – both women and men - of like-mind. We invite you to spend an evening honoring the support and connection with one another. Bring a journal or paper, a favorite essential oil or crystal and an open heart and mind. Please RSVP!
